Sigmund Freud's Zimmerlinde

On Thursday, a generous friend gifted me this remarkable plant. He'd husbanded it from a cutting given to him by Sigmund Freud's great-granddaughter. She had grown her Zimmerlinde from a cutting taken from the original plant which Freud had carried from his Vienna apartment to London in 1939. Once it becomes hardy enough to be resoiled in the open, it will grace my Russian avenue – and with luck send a bracing shiver up and down those pre-analysed spines.
